Spring! It's officially here... The moment has arisen for warmer, sunnier days that stretch out with all nature in bloom. Time to adorn your cute self with tank tops, dresses and more skin-revealing clothes and shoes... Wait what? Skin revealing? Is your skin ready?

As an professional aesthetician and the beauty expert here at EcoDiva, I receive so many questions regarding not only facial skin but body skin and how to make it glow. Spring is the time we all shed our dry, dull and lackluster skin from our fall and winter months. Thankfully early spring allows us the time to start getting our skin prepped before the month is even up and your skin will be glowing in no time. I'm sure you can agree that healthy skin is beautiful. Its time to deliver results for our skin from head to toe! Who’s with me?

Skin Issue: Bumpy arms and legs.

Solution: Exfoliate, exfoliate, moisturize... repeat!

This is my mantra for smooth skin. Bumpy skin on the arms or legs is known as ketosis pilaris or “chicken skin bumps." They are unsightly and usually have a rough texture to them. The best and fastest way to eliminate this pesky problem? Dry brush your body as a means of exfoliation (it also detoxes your body, read my article on body dry brushing here). After one use, you will notice a difference, but vow to give yourself the next month to see and feel dramatic results.

If body dry brushing isn’t your thing, the next best option is to get yourself a good body scrub. The Vitamin C Body Scrub by Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics as well as Chocolate Sun’s White Tea Leaf and Citrus Blossom Body Scrub are a couple of my beauty expert favorites. Each softens the skin while exfoliating, and their aromas are so enticing!

After exfoliating the body, your new fresh skin cells have emerged! This is the perfect opportunity to moisturize those babies. They will function better as skin cells, allowing for you to bask in all your natural beauty. Choose either a body lotion, or my expert go to would be a body oil like one from Organic Bath Co.  or the Mel Millis Phytonutri Neroli & Baobab Body Oil. Apply to damp skin for the best results.

Skin Issue: Cracked heels, dry, scaly feet.

Solution: Similar to the skin issue above, our skin on our heels and feet needs lots of attention in areas of both exfoliating and moisturizing.

Treat your feet to a little foot bath by soaking them in warm water filled with epsom salts and lavender essential oil. To make your soak more detoxifying, sprinkle a few tablespoons of a Pursoma bath soak mix into the water and let those toxins be released through the bottoms of your feet! Our feet are one of the best areas of the body to naturally draw out impurities. Plus your feet will look extra pretty!

Use a pumice stone to gently exfoliate the curves of your heels and feet. Apply a body balm to your feet such as the Mahalo MultiCare Balm or One Love Organics Skin Savior to your feet to lock in and seal all that moisture. The balm is the perfect consistency for feet since foot skin is thicker and needs a denser moisturizer to produce the results we want. Say hello to soft, smooth feet!

Skin Issue: Chest-ne or bacne.

Solution: A great cleanser and toner.

Got breakouts and blackheads on your chest or back? These usually develop by trapped oils and dirt not getting washed off after working out. So if you can, please do yourself a favor and try to shower as quickly as you can after a workout. You can use a purifying facial cleanser on these areas. Dr. Alkaitis has an Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser or Organic Body Wash that will help eliminate those pesky red bumps from appearing. But, please refrain from using a washcloth to clean these areas, or the body in general. Washcloths tend to hold and breed bacteria! Opt for instead a naturally bacteria repellant body sponge such as Dr. Sponge’s Body Cleansing Sponge.

Next you’re skin will need a bit of hydration and toning properties to maintain and achieve clear skin. Apply this must-have-product: Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel. It is highly antibacterial yet calming for irritated skin. Use a thin layer to the affected areas and allow for it to fully absorb before dressing. Your chest and back will be ready to show some skin in no time!

Skin Issue: Dull, pale skin.

Soltuion: A natural, tinted glow.

Looking for the quickest fix to liven up your skin’s complexion? Tint your skin to a natural glow to radiate the look of spring. Make sure you exfoliate well first. Then apply a self tanner such as the Chocolate Sun Organic Cocoa Illume Face Gel or Cocoa Lite Enhancer. It will give your skin a natural tan. PRTTY PEAUSHUN's Skin Tight Body Lotion is a great quick fix to highlight your natural curves by tightening and reflecting light off the skin. It blurs imperfections, you’ll only radiate hydrated, glowing skin.
