How To: Sunrise Chia Seed Smoothie Recipe

Looking for a refreshing fruit smoothie loaded with tons of health and beauty benefits? Look no further! I chose to do a rendition of One Love Organics: Chia Whip Purifying Foam Cleanser.

Doesn’t “Chia Whip” sound delicious? I thought to try to recreate it into a edible version, which can be good for the body and skin, both inside and out. What could get better than that?

Introducing the Sunrise Chia Seed Smoothie. A creamy and thirst-quenching elixir, it has a slightly tropical twist due to the fact that there is a bit of pineapple in it. It is light and naturally sweet too, nothing refined, just pure goodness. It is perfect to make any morning of the week, whether you’re rushing off to start your day or to enjoy on a lovely and relaxing weekend. One sip and your taste buds will be satisfied and so will your stomach!

I love to add a bit of toast with the smoothie to balance out my morning meal or will enjoy it as a healthy dessert to curb off that craving in the evening. The ingredients are simple: grapefruit, pineapple, coconut milk, chia seeds, ice and your natural sweetener of choice. 

The above ingredients are chock full of healthy enzymes the body needs as well as the antioxidant: vitamin C is a perfect immune system defense aid as well as a free radical warrior. Chia seeds are high in protein, fiber, omegas and antioxidants.

Interestingly enough many people don’t know that chia deeds help us stay hydrated! That's super important as most of us are dehydrated and our body and skin needs it to function and look its best. Think about it: Chia seeds, when submerged in a liquid form such as water or aloe juice, will get a gelatinous texture. They're like a sponge, absorbing the fluid they come in contact with. They're a perfect way to stay hydrated and full at the same time! Can you believe such a tiny seed contains so many amazing wellness benefits? 

 

 

 
 

Sunrise Chia Seed Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup grapefruit juice

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup light coconut milk

1/2 cup crushed ice

1/2 cup frozen raspberries

2 tbsp. chia seeds

1 tsp. Stevia or natural sweetener of choice

 

Directions:

In a blender, combine all the ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy! Serve immediately. Enjoy!
