Monthly Must-Have: 6 Makeup Looks to Try Now

Fall is here and winter is coming. While I definitely miss the beach trips, breezy hairstyles and sun-kissed, bare-faced, freckled skin, this new season invites some very exciting beauty trends to try out and have fun with. From vampy, berry-stained lips, to dark smoldering eye makeup and yes, even soft, peach-washed eyelids and lips, the runway makeup artists are all about showing off their favourite seasonal trends. I've compiled six gorgeous makeup looks I've seen quite a bit of this season, along with the green cosmetics essential to achieve these fabulous looks!

1. Black Out
This look is all about a dark, charcoal, smoky eye. It's definitely not your subtle smoky date-night eye (although you could just use a black liner and smudge it out). This eye makeup makes a statement on its own. For the statement look, use a black/charcoal shadow—Kjaer Weis Organic Eye Shadow in Onyx—and pack it on. Then, blend it out real good. For a more simple look, line around your eyes (waterline, too) with a creamy black pencil ( Hynt Beauty Forte High Definition Eyeliner) then smudge with a cotton swab or an angled eyeshadow brush.

2. Modern Gothic
One often associates deep, dark, vampy lips with '90s grunge. However, this runway look has leaned more ladylike—which I adore. Pair a deep purple, oxblood or other vampy shade—such as Nu Evolution's Lipstick in Feisty—with clean skin, warm cheeks, brushed-up brows and bare lids with heavily (even clumpy) mascara-coated lashes. (Hynt Beauty's Nocturne Mascara is a fave!) If you're not a pro at applying dark lipstick, fear not! Apply as usual and then clean up any smeared edges with a q-tip dipped in some makeup remover. To clean up and sharpen the look even more, use a concealer to hide any staining.

3. Peachy Keen
Definitely a safer, easier, more wearable look! Use a neutral, peachy-toned eyeshadow on your lids—something almost everyone can pull off—and if your eyes are lighter or blue, it will really pop! What I love about this look, besides it being super wearable, is it's simple and totally easy to achieve. Elde Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Rush in Peach is a light creamy peachy nude color and a great start for the lips. It can also be used for the cheeks for a pretty, dewy look! (I'd even say the eyelids would work too!)

4. Art Show
This may not be your every day, go-to look, but it sure is fun for a night out, or if you're feeling extra bold! You can play it up to a dramatic, over-lined cat eye, or go as far as drawing on some fake lashes. I really love Hynt Beauty Forte High Definition Eyeliner for doing some graphic lines—just sharpen the pencil and voila! Your eyes are your canvas—have fun with it!

5. Glow On
Pinky nude lips, fresh, glowing skin and a soft pink flush cheek. This makeup is effortless and beautiful! Elde Cosmetic Lip & Cheek Rush in Midnight Pink is the star, along with Nu Evolution Pressed Blush in Soho. They both impart the glowy, flushed pink appeal of this makeup look. I think of it as almost a "no-makeup, makeup look," but with a tad bit more of a rosy, feminine flair.

6. Stained Red

When paired with fresh, clean skin, this vibrant, yet delicate, vintage-like look is timeless, classic, and oh so chic! It's universally flattering and the elegance and simplicity of it is refreshing. Apply using the lipstick straight from the tube – for a more slap-n-dash approach – or a lip brush, for more precision, and rub your lips together. Ilia Beauty Lipstick in Wild Child is a gorgeous bright, warm fiery red, that will have you turning heads!

You're sure to feel ready to go and fab for the fall with this mixture of fun and simple makeup trends! Now get out there and strut your stuff #EcoDiva!
