Monthly Must-Haves: Going Green (Literally)
Going green can mean more than just your transition to cleaner, healthier beauty. Why not jump all in and actually bring the color green to your routine? Here are a few of my favorites for putting the "green" back into green beauty.
Dr. Alkaitis Organic Flower Mask
Want your lifeless complexion brightened, alive and energized!? Then this Organic Flower Mask is what the doctor ordered! This active mask isn’t recommended for those with acne and sensitive skin—more for oily or normal skin conditions. With ingredients such as lavender and chamomile flowers, oat buds and more, after just one use your skin will be glowing and you will see an improvement with your overall skin tone. Can also be used as an exfoliating scrub!
HOW TO USE: Mix one full teaspoon of powdered mask with approximately one teaspoon of water in a small bowl and mix into thin paste. Apply evenly with fingertips to face, neck and décolletage and keep mask moist by spritzing with water. After 10-20 minutes, gently use a soft damp cloth or hands to rinse face with lukewarm water. Do not use mixture more than once. For additional rejuvenation and hydration benefits, mix with a yogurt and/or a teaspoon of raw organic honey. Use weekly.
Non-toxic perfume that smells like literal Joy! A fragrant concoction of orange flower lime blossom, rose, jasmine and creamy sandalwood. Fresh, floral, completely chemical (phthalate and paraben) free and in the cutest traditional spray bottle! Made in Canada (yes!) and compounded in France—I mean hellooooo.
HOW TO USE: Apply it to pulse points as necessary.
Spruce is a flattering khaki green shade that I love. These eco-friendly polishes are 8-free and cruelty-free, and do not contain dibutyl phthalate (dbp), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, xylene, triphenyl phosphate (tphp).
Couture is a fierce metallic shade (with a greenish pop to it) that will make your eyes stand out! Love this look with a smoky charcoal eye for a pop of metallic colour. It’s super long-lasting and it contains skin-soothing ingredients such as lavender, goldenseal, thyme and rosemary.
HOW TO USE: Using an eyeshadow brush, blend your choices of colors from lashes to brow to create the look you desire, from neutral to bold. To create an eyeliner, wet your liner/angled brush and gently dip in shadow before lining upper and lower lids.
You had me at Calm Sea! This hydrating, cooling facial mist adds moisture and balance to your skin! It’s incredibly refreshing, containing organic aloe vera and sea extracts, while botanical hyaluronic acid helps skin maintain its essential water balance. It wakes up skin post-cleansing, it sets makeup and it revitalizes skin during the day (or post workout).
HOW TO USE: Add to your skincare routine, right after cleansing. Keep it in your purse, car or gym bag for pick-me-ups during the day.
