In traditional cosmetics, "fragrance" is a chemical combination that is typically kept protected as a “trade secret,” and because of this, it doesn't have to be disclosed on the label. That means that approximately 3,000 (even the 11 currently banned by the U.S. government) chemicals are used as fragrances.

Why should you care? Because fragrances commonly contain parabens, phthalates and synthetic musks that may cause hormone disruption, reproductive problems—or possibly lead to cancer.

What can you do? Choose products that only contain natural, essential oil-based scents. Everything we source fits the bill—you won't find any artificial fragrances here!
